Three Axial Flux permanently synchronous electric motors (1 front/2 rear)

Three innovative axial flux motors team up to deliver over 800 hp. These specialized motors roughly triple the power density of conventional electric motors, thereby allowing a package one-third the size, along with higher sustained output and greater torque. They’re integrated with compact transmissions into High-Performance Electric Drive Units, an oil-coiled pair at the rear axle plus a booster up front for added power or traction on demand. Inspired by Formula 1®, they’re developed by AMG to bring performance to an entirely new level.

AMG DYNAMIC SELECT

A multimode drive program selector on the console or steering wheel-mounted AMG DRIVE UNIT lets you transform the car's character. A range of modes (Comfort, Sport, AMGFORCE Sport+, Eco and Slippery) alter the drivetrain response, steering effort, rear-axle steering behavior, AMG air suspension, and soundscape. A separate "Individual" mode allows you to create a mode of your own. The DYNAMIC PLUS Package adds a Race mode.

AMG DRIVE UNIT

A set of controls on the steering wheel lets you adjust performance settings quickly and easily, with integrated color displays to confirm your selection. The left switches can be assigned to functions such as the suspension damping modes or other performance settings. The right round control knob selects and displays the driving mode of AMG DYNAMIC SELECT.

AMG Response Control

AMG-specific liquid-cooled 106 -kWh EV battery

AMG has developed an entirely new battery inspired by Formula 1® for sustained high performance. Its 2,660 cylindrical NCMA (nickel, cobalt, manganese and aluminum) cells can deliver 300Wh/kg of energy density. A laser-welded aluminum housing, direct cooling by nonconductive oil, and intelligent thermal management help optimize temperature to support the high continuous output. And both weight and charge times benefit from the 800-volt capacity.

Intelligent Energy Recovery with paddles

Paddles on the steering wheel let you vary the intensity of energy recuperated by deceleration and braking during normal driving. Three levels of recuperation are selectable: normal, increased (which can allow one-pedal driving), and none (effectively coasting when you let off the driving pedal). A "D Auto" setting can activate the intelligent ECO Assist feature.

Deeply contoured, highly supportive front sport seats feature intuitive, seat-shaped power controls on the door, plus a 4-way power lumbar support. Dual-zone automatic climate control

Separate left and right temperature controls allow the driver and front passenger to enjoy personalized comfort. In addition to fully automatic or manual control of blower speed and airflow distribution, the system includes a dust and pollen filter that helps keep particles as small as 0.0002-inch from entering the cabin.

Power liftgate

For added convenience in the rain or with an armful of packages, you can fully open and close the liftgate via a switch on the driver's interior door panel or a button on the SmartKey remote. Press a button on the driver's door or the underside of the liftgate and it powers itself closed. A sensor automatically stops the liftgate if it detects an obstruction, and you can set the system to limit the opening height, useful under low ceilings.

Adaptive braking technology

Adaptive braking technology integrates a suite of advances. If you lift off the accelerator quickly, Predictive Brake Priming can set the pads closer to the discs for more immediate response when you apply the brakes. The system can even attempt to move your car out of the way if it detects another vehicle changing lanes into your path.
