Rear 245kW permanently synchronous electric motor

Smooth, quiet and rich in torque, the EQS 450+ is powered by an advanced 245kW electric motor that can send up to 329 hp and 417 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. The "permanently excited synchronous motor" (PSM) features permanent magnets to generate AC current with high power density and efficiency. An advanced cooling system helps maintain its high-performance consistency during spirited driving and a wide range of climates.

DYNAMIC SELECT

A multimode drive program selector on the console lets you transform the car's character with the flip of a switch. Three modes (ECO, Comfort and Sport) alter the drivetrain response, steering effort, and AIRMATIC^® suspension. A fourth "Individual" mode allows you to create a mode of your own.

Advanced 108.4-kWh EV battery

A new generation of battery technology in the EQS offers significantly higher energy density. The high-voltage battery's energy content of more than 108 kWh is managed by innovative software, developed by Mercedes-Benz, that can be updated over the air, without a dealer visit, to help maintain its performance throughout its long lifespan.

AIRMATIC suspension

For a balanced, comfortable ride, the AIRMATIC^® semi-active suspension employs electronically controlled air springs that adjust to changing driving conditions. Components are engineered to offer quick response with light system weight. AIRMATIC's automatic 4-wheel level control helps compensate for additional cargo or passengers. It can also lower the ride height at higher speeds for improved aerodynamics, stability and efficiency.

EQS Sedan wheels start at 20 inches and span up to 22, in seven intriguing designs. Among them are 20-inch and 21-inch AMG^® options, paired with the AMG Line Exterior that's standard on the EQS 580.

Offering both front- and rear-seat passengers sweeping skyward views, this fully functional glass sunroof features a front panel that can either tilt up for ventilation or slide over the rear panel for an open-air feeling. Dual interior power shades with controls allow the driver and each rear passenger to adjust the amount of sunlight entering the cabin.

Three new heights of luxury.

Biometric authentication

You can personalize up to 800 vehicle settings, from music programming to seat comfort, and save them in any of seven user profiles. Features can even be set up via the Mercedes me connect mobile app, when you're away from the car. Your Mercedes me connect PIN identifies your profile, or you can use a built-in fingerprint reader below the central touchscreen. Profiles can even be used in multiple cars.

Heated power front seats with memory

Intuitive, and artfully sculpted, seat-shaped controls help you and your front passenger find your ideal seating positions with 12-way power adjustment, including cushion length. A memory system for each front seat recalls four stored seat positions with the touch of a button. The driver-seat memory also includes the power steering column and side mirror positions. Standard heating with automatic timed step-down adds soothing, controlled comfort in cool weather.

Dual-zone automatic climate control

Separate left and right digital temperature controls allow the driver and front passenger to enjoy personalized comfort. In addition to fully automatic or manual control of blower speed and airflow distribution, the system senses humidity and windshield fogging. An integrated filtration system helps remove dust, pollen and even odors from the cabin air. And dual solar sensors can team with GPS data to adjust for the angle of the sun, helping keep cabin temperature consistent.

Steering wheel with Touch Control Buttons

Innovative Touch Controls elevate the multifunction steering wheel to an unparalleled level of user-friendliness. Finger-sensitive buttons access features like audio, Bluetooth^® and cruise control. Four smartphone-like pads offer direct control of countless cockpit features. The upper touchpads operate the menu screen in the gauge cluster or the central multimedia display. Larger, lower touchpads let you vary your cruising speed or adjust the audio volume, all with your hands on the wheel.

Front-cabin wireless charging

Near-Field Communication (NFC) technology allows wireless charging of a compatible phone or other device that supports the Qi standard. An inductive charging tray in the front-cabin console lets you charge your device's battery while you drive without plugging it in.

Burmester 3D Surround Sound system w/EV Sound

The Burmester^® 3D system pairs innovations in mobile audio with legendary quality. A Digital Signal Processing amp can output 710 total watts to deliver a natural sound spectrum in any music genre. Active Lane Keeping Assist

With technology to monitor ordinary road markings above a certain driving speed, Active Lane Keeping Assist can help detect unintended drifting off-course, and alert you by vibrating the steering wheel. If you continue to drift, it can selectively brake individual wheels to help guide the car back. Enhancements help it alert you to overtaking vehicles, vehicles you'd need to overtake if you change lanes, and even traffic in the adjacent lane or along the road edge for safer evasive moves.

Extended Restart in Stop-and-Go Traffic

When using Active Distance Assist DISTRONIC^® cruise control in stop-and-go traffic, the vehicle can normally resume automatically when traffic moves if the pause is less than three seconds. This innovative enhancement can help sense some traffic conditions that require longer pauses, and extend this interval to up to 60 seconds, to make driving in traffic easier and less stressful. If the pause is longer, the driver need only tap the resume button or accelerator pedal to proceed.

Adaptive braking technology

Adaptive braking technology integrates a suite of advances. If you lift off the accelerator quickly, Predictive Brake Priming can set the pads closer to the discs for more immediate response when you apply the brakes. In the rain, Automatic Brake Drying can periodically apply the brakes just enough to sweep water build-up from the discs. During uphill starts, Hill-Start Assist can help prevent unwanted rollback. And a HOLD feature can make long red lights or stopped traffic a little easier.

An advanced system of 7 air bags offers 9-way occupant protection. There are dual two-stage front air bags, a driver’s knee air bag, front side-impact air bags, and side curtain air bags for both seating rows.
