Dual AMG-specific electric motors (460 kW total)

AMG-specific dual electric motors can deliver 617 hp and 701 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. The "permanently excited synchronous motors" (PSMs) feature enhanced windings, actuators and programming for higher rpm, and thus quicker acceleration and higher top speed. The six-phase rear motor is especially powerful. AMG-specific cooling helps maintain consistent response during performance driving and varying climates. A RACE START option can briefly boost output up to 677 hp and 738 lb-ft.

AMG Performance 4MATIC+ all-wheel drive

An electro-specific development of the acclaimed AMG all-wheel drive system can continuously distribute torque to all four wheels with infinite front/rear-axle variability. Markedly quicker in response than mechanical AWD and virtually weightless, the system can calculate and adjust the torque split 10,000 times per minute. The Comfort mode of AMG DYNAMIC SELECT emphasizes efficiency and range while the Sport and Sport+ modes emphasize driving dynamics with a greater rear-axle bias.

AMG DYNAMIC SELECT

A multimode drive program selector on the console or steering wheel-mounted AMG DRIVE UNIT lets you transform the car's character with the flip of a switch. Four modes (Comfort, Sport, Sport+ and Slippery) alter the drivetrain response, steering effort, rear-axle steering behavior, AMG air suspension, and soundscape. A fifth "Individual" mode allows you to create a mode of your own.

Advanced 90.6-kWh EV battery

Advanced battery technology in the AMG EQE offers significantly higher energy density. The high-voltage battery's energy content of more than 90 kWh is managed by innovative software, developed by Mercedes-Benz, that can be updated over the air, without a dealer visit, to help maintain its performance throughout its long lifespan. AMG-specific wiring and battery management is tailored to the car's high-performance character.

An integrated filtration system helps remove dust, pollen and even odors from the cabin air. And dual solar sensors can team with GPS data to adjust for the angle of the sun, helping keep cabin temperature consistent.

A twin-spoke design makes the AMG Performance steering wheel more enjoyable than ever. In addition to its contoured side grips, flat-bottom design, and aluminum AMG recuperation paddles, each spoke places its own Touch Control Buttons for more intuitive access by feel alone. AMG DRIVE UNIT performance controls and a heated rim are also standard.

Biometric authentication

You can personalize up to 800 vehicle settings, from music programming to seat comfort, and save them in any of seven user profiles. Features can even be set up via the Mercedes me connect mobile app, when you're away from the car. Your Mercedes me connect PIN identifies your profile, or you can use facial recognition or a fingerprint reader below the central touchscreen. Profiles can even be used in multiple cars.

MBUX Hyperscreen

A major achievement in automotive displays, the Hyperscreen unites a 12.3-inch LED instrument cluster, and two Organic LED (OLED) touchscreens measuring 17.7 inches and 12.3 inches behind a single 56-inch span of high-strength, fingerprint-and scratch-resistant aluminum-silicate glass. Features include a dozen haptic actuators to provide tactile feedback for key controls, and an innovative "zero-layer" menu concept. Eye-tracking and light-sensing abilities enhance ease of viewing.

Front-cabin wireless charging with NFC pairing

Near-Field Communication (NFC) technology allows wireless charging of a compatible phone or other device that supports the Qi standard. An inductive charging tray in the front-cabin console lets you charge your device's battery while you drive without plugging it in.

An advanced system of 7 air bags offers 9-way occupant protection. There are dual two-stage front air bags, a driver’s knee air bag, front side-impact air bags, and side curtain air bags for both seating rows.

Active Blind Spot Assist

At most driving speeds, radar technology can help sense when a vehicle enters the blind-spot area on either side of you, and alert you by illuminating an icon in the appropriate side mirror. If you activate a turn signal while a vehicle is detected, it can sound a warning tone while flashing the mirror icon. And if you begin to change lanes, advanced active technology can help guide the car back by selectively braking individual wheels while a display appears in the instrument cluster.

Front and Rear Cross-Traffic Alert w/pedestrian detection and automatic braking

Using the ultrasonic sensors of Active Parking Assist and multiple cameras, this system can help audibly and visually alert the driver to approaching cross-traffic or pedestrians when backing or pulling out of a parking space at low speed. Especially helpful if your view is obstructed by vehicles or structures, the system can also apply the brakes. The sensors can also help detect if the driver has engaged the wrong gear or pedal for exiting a confined space.

Active Speed Limit Assist

Active Speed Limit Assist can detect posted speed-limit signs and, along with information in the navigation system's map database, automatically adapt your cruising speed accordingly. As you first engage DISTRONIC^® on a drive, the system can also set your cruising speed to match the posted speed with just a single tap of the cruise-control lever.
