Smooth, quiet and rich in torque, the EQB 300 4MATIC is powered by dual electric motors with 168 kW total output. They can distribute up to 225 hp and 288 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. The compact asynchronous front motor (ASM) teams with a "permanently excited synchronous motor" (PSM) whose permanent magnets generate AC current with high power density and efficiency. The front/rear power balance is continually optimized to balance performance and driving range.
In any season, on any road, 4MATIC® all-wheel drive adds to your confidence and control. In the EQB, the dual electric motors allow its 4MATIC system to fully vary the torque distribution between the front and rear axles. Continually monitoring for wheel slip and other parameters, the system can quickly reapportion the torque in response to changing driving conditions. And since the function is a built-in benefit of the dual motors, it eliminates the weight of a transfer case and front-rear driveshaft.
A multimode drive program selector on the console lets you transform the car's character with the flip of a switch. Three modes (ECO, Comfort and Sport) alter the drivetrain response, steering effort, and more. A fourth "Individual" mode allows you to create a mode of your own.
Along with high energy density, the EQB's multi-cell high-voltage battery is intelligently integrated with the vehicle's systems and safety structure. Located under the cabin floor, it helps lower the vehicle's center of gravity for more reassuring handling. Standard MB Navigation with Electric Intelligence can help pre-warm the battery before reaching a rapid charging station on your route, for faster replenishment.
Bright white LED Daytime Running Lamps help get the EQB noticed, for added safety and in modern style. Their distinctive angular design outlines the headlamps and spans the upper edge of the front end's signature Black Panel.
EQB wheels and styling options are designed to reduce drag while catching admiring glances. Five 18-inch and 19-inch wheels include intriguing, ultramodern details, or iconic AMG® designs you can pair with the bold, sporty AMG Line/Night Package option.
Sleek and purposeful, the roof rails accommodate a variety of available accessory attachments for carrying bikes, surfboards, skis, snowboards and cargo carriers. They're crafted from elegant aluminum that adds modern style even when you're not using them.
A vivid 10.25-inch screen directly in front of the driver offers customizable analog-style and digital displays for instrumentation. The panel also integrates a large multifunction menu screen with illustrated and animated menus for vehicle information, settings and driver-assistance features. Modern Classic, Sport and Electric Art instrumentation styles can be selected, featuring a variety of analog-style, digital and graphical readouts especially tailored to electric motoring.
For added convenience in the rain or with an armful of packages, you can fully open and close the liftgate via a switch on the driver's interior door panel or a button on the SmartKey remote. Press a button on the driver's door or the underside of the liftgate and it powers itself closed. A sensor automatically stops the liftgate if it detects an obstruction, and you can set the system to limit the opening height, useful under low ceilings.
As rewarding as it is to have the key to an EQB in your pocket or purse, you never need to take it out to start the car. Just step on the brake and push on the Start/Stop button on the dash, and you can be on your way.
Innovative Touch Controls elevate the multifunction steering wheel to an unparalleled level of user-friendliness. In addition to fingertip buttons for features like audio, Bluetooth® and cruise control, smartphone-like pads offer direct control of nearly every cockpit feature. Swiping through menus is easy: Your left thumb operates the menu screen in the gauge cluster, and your right thumb controls the large central screen without taking your hands from the wheel's leather-wrapped rim.
Separate left and right temperature controls allow the driver and front passenger to enjoy personalized comfort. In addition to fully automatic or manual control of blower speed and airflow distribution, the system includes a dust and pollen filter that helps keep particles as small as 5 microns from entering the cabin. Five adjustable vents in the dash and a pair of rear-cabin air vents help maintain passenger enjoyment throughout the cabin.
The roomy 3-passenger 2nd-row seat includes a center armrest for added comfort when only one or two passengers are riding along. Built-in cupholders are included.
All new Mercedes-Benz vehicles are protected by our New Vehicle Limited Warranty, covering defects in material or workmanship for 48-months or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. For added protection, the Mercedes-Benz Extended Limited Warranty offers continued peace of mind with prolonged coverage tailored to your needs.
An advanced system of seven air bags offers 9-way occupant protection. Standard are dual two-stage front air bags, combined thorax/pelvic bags for the driver and front passenger, a driver's knee air bag, plus side curtain air bags for the first and second seating rows.
Interpreting information that is continually supplied by the car's Electronic Stability Program (ESP®), electric power steering and suspension sensors, Crosswind Assist can help detect the effects of strong side winds on the vehicle's handling stability at highway speeds. Whether caused by lateral gusts or even a passing truck, the system can help keep the car on course via strategic braking of the wheels on one side of the vehicle.
Radar-based technology can alert you if you're approaching a vehicle ahead, or even some stationary objects, at a speed and distance that suggest a collision is likely. As soon as you start to brake, it can automatically provide an appropriate level of braking to help prevent a collision or reduce its severity. If you fail to respond, it can also initiate braking automatically at a range of driving speeds. The system can also help detect and react to crossing pedestrians at typical city speeds.
For a better view of what's behind your vehicle when reversing, a high-resolution camera can display a live view on the central in-dash screen. Steering-dependent active guidelines on the screen can help you back into a parking space, and you can select between wide-angle and even wider 180-degree views.
