A new generation of performance pairs turbo and electric boost for more than 400 hp in every model. Torrential torque is precisely metered to all four air-suspended wheels for all-year, all-road confidence.

Turbo torque, electric EQ Boost

EQ Boost advances its innovative Integrated Starter Generator to add torque electrically and make ECO Start/Stop even smoother. The S 500's 429-hp inline-6 turbo is further boosted by an electric auxiliary compressor. Twin turbos help the S 580 V8 output 496 hp.

Tighter turns, smoother maneuvers

Rear-axle steering helps ease parking and city maneuvers. At speed, the rear wheels turn with the fronts for swifter lane changes, or adapt based on driving dynamics for more stable handling. A 10-degree system is part of the Executive Line, while the AMG Line offers a 4.5-degree option.

To simplify the outfitting of your S-Class, three "lines" bundle complementary features into three distinctive and generously appointed model series. The Luxury Line means there's no such thing as a "base model" S-Class, providing thoughtful luxuries from rapid-heating, massaging front seats to the Air Balance cabin-air ionizer and fragrance atomizer. Among the other features, 64-color active ambient lighting and a multicamera Surround View System enhance the look inside and your view outside.

All-LED exterior lighting

From its headlamps to its distinctive taillamps, a network of long-lasting and energy-efficient LEDs accomplish every exterior lighting function with distinctive style. The taillamps feature a wraparound horizontal design that flows with the trunklid. LEDs also offer quicker illumination, offering other drivers more time to react to your brake lamps and other signals.

Gloss black exterior accents

The Night Package adds jet-black accents to the AMG Line's sporty styling. The front splitter and air-intake fins, as well as the rear valance insert and side mirror housings, are all finished in deep gloss black.

Standard Burmester® 3D Surround Sound offers immersive, personalized audio. A new 4D option integrates resonators into the seats for music you can feel. Ear-level speakers deliver driving information to the driver rather than the whole cabin.

Panorama roof

Offering both front- and rear-seat passengers sweeping skyward views, this fully functional glass sunroof features a front panel that can either tilt up for ventilation or slide over the rear panel for an open-air feeling. Dual interior power shades with controls allow the driver and each rear passenger to adjust the amount of sunlight entering the cabin.

Two friendly words let you activate the voice control features of the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX). Just say "Hey, Mercedes" and then tell MBUX what you'd like in everyday language, like you're talking to another person. Want the MB Navigation to guide to a coffee shop? You can just say "Hey, Mercedes, I need a coffee" or ask it to find your favorite coffee chain nearby. Enhancements include support for up to nine languages, and a built-in help feature.

A breakthrough in automobile cockpit control, the Mercedes-Benz User Experience is further enhanced in the S-Class. MBUX integrates digital in-dash displays including a touchscreen, touch-sensitive controls, Bluetooth® hands-free and audio streaming, and an industry-advancing voice control system that responds to your everyday speaking voice and phrasing of commands. Parking Damage Detector

While your vehicle is parked, an innovative system can detect if it experiences certain types of impacts that are likely to cause damage to it, such as being struck by another car. The system can push a notification to your phone via the Mercedes me connect app, and can display a notification message the next time you start the car. It can even offer an easy connection to the Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Center to help you make a repair appointment.

Surround View System

The advanced Surround View System uses cameras in all four directions to compose a single, live overhead view of your immediate surroundings. Displayed on the central in-dash screen during low-speed maneuvers, it can help you avoid obstacles as you negotiate tight spaces, whether you're moving forward or backing up.

Rear Cross-Traffic Alert w/pedestrian detection and automatic braking

Using the ultrasonic sensors of Active Parking Assist and multiple cameras, this system can help audibly and visually alert the driver to approaching cross-traffic or pedestrians when backing out of a parking space at low speed. Especially helpful if your view is obstructed by vehicles or structures, the system can also apply the brakes. The sensors can also help detect if the driver has engaged the wrong gear or pedal for exiting a confined space.
