An advanced, beltless turbo inline-6 with electric EQ Boost sprints the 362-hp GT 43 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds. An electric auxiliary compressor rushes the GT 53 to 429 hp, and 60 in 4.4 seconds.

Biturbo V8s, crafted by one pair of hands.

The highly advanced 4.0L AMG V8's twin turbos nest inside the engine's "hot V" to slash lag and losses. A single master handcrafts the engine for each 577-hp GT 63 and 630-hp GT 63 S, the most powerful AMG with four doors.

Nine speeds, served numerous ways.

Quick-shifting 9-speeds keep the plentiful torque on tap. The GT 43 and 53's AMG SPEEDSHIFT^® TCT and the multiclutch AMG SPEEDSHIFT MCT in the GT 63 and 63 S offer multiple modes and direct multi-gear downshifts.

AMG DYNAMIC SELECT lets you fine-tune the car's character via a console control or available AMG DRIVE UNIT on the steering wheel. Driving modes, one customizable, vary the throttle, shifting, handling, exhaust note, and more.

Yellow brake calipers reveal a performance pack that's standard on the AMG GT 63 S and a GT 63 option. Dynamic engine and transmission mounts progressively stiffen for extreme driving. AMG DYNAMIC SELECT adds RACE and Drift modes and the AMG DRIVE UNIT.

Car-to-X Communication.

In the future, cars will be able to communicate with each other over the airwaves. In the AMG GT 4-door Coupe, the future starts today. Vehicles with industry-leading Car-to-X Communication can automatically alert a central notification system of certain dangers, from detected wheelspin to the use of hazard flashers or even windshield wipers. The system can then alert you or other drivers with Car-to-X via in-dash displays, allowing precautions to be taken before reaching the hazard.

Active Brake Assist.

Radar-based technology can alert you if you're approaching a vehicle ahead, or even some stationary objects, at a speed and distance that suggest a collision is likely. As soon as you start to brake, it can automatically provide an appropriate level of braking to help prevent a collision or reduce its severity. If you fail to respond, it can also initiate braking automatically at a range of driving speeds. The system can also detect and react to crossing pedestrians at typical city speeds.

Mercedes-Benz Emergency Call service.

If an air bag deploys, your car can automatically initiate a call to Mercedes-Benz Emergency Services, transmitting your GPS-determined location and helpful vehicle information on your behalf. Trained experts are on call 24/7 to help summon local emergency responders to your location. You can also press the SOS button in the vehicle anytime you need emergency assistance, or see someone else who does. This vital service is provided for as long as you own the vehicle, no matter who's driving.

Optional Dashcam.

A camera in the windshield can record activity occurring in front of the vehicle, and let you save it for playback using your own compatible USB flash drive. Potentially useful for documenting an accident or other event, the 1,280x720-pixel video with a 30-Hz frame rate can also include vehicle speed and the time of day. Playback can be viewed on the car's multimedia display or on your own computer via your USB flash drive.

ATTENTION ASSIST.

The first system of its kind, ATTENTION ASSIST^® continuously monitors up to 70 parameters of driving behavior, and can automatically alert the driver with both visual and audible warnings if it detects signs of drowsiness on long trips. With enhanced sensitivity, the system can also help detect drivers who begin their trip drowsy, and offer more useful information to drivers along their journey via a dashboard display.

Advanced body structure.

The body structure is engineered using the combined expertise of Mercedes-AMG in developing production cars of acclaimed safety and highly successful racecars. Computer analysis and simulations used in racing led to reinforcement of the front structure for high longitudinal and torsional rigidity, to enhance handling precision and driver feedback. The center and tail sections incorporate carbon fiber-reinforced polymers (CRP) in key areas to elevate strength while keeping weight in check.

7 air bags.

An advanced system of seven air bags offers 9-way occupant protection. Dual two-stage front air bags and combined thorax/pelvic bags are provided for the driver and front passenger, along with a driver's knee air bag plus side curtain air bags for both seating rows.

Active LED High-Performance headlamps.

Pioneered by Mercedes-Benz, active LED headlamps generate light that's perceived much like natural daylight. Active Curve Illumination and Adaptive Highbeam Assist adjust the LEDs in each headlamp to help maximize the illumination of corners and straightaways, without creating glare for other drivers.
