Smooth, quiet and rich in torque, the EQS 450+ SUV is powered by an advanced 245kW electric motor that can send up to 355 hp and 419 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels. The "permanently excited synchronous motor" (PSM) features permanent magnets to generate AC current with high power density and efficiency. An advanced cooling system helps maintain its high-performance consistency during spirited driving and a wide range of climates.
Paddles on the steering wheel let you vary the intensity of energy recuperated by deceleration and braking during normal driving. Three levels of recuperation are selectable: normal, increased (which can allow one-pedal driving), and none (effectively coasting when you let off the driving pedal). A "D Auto" setting can activate the intelligent ECO Assist feature.
A multimode drive program selector on the console lets you transform the car's character with the flip of a switch. Three modes (ECO, Comfort and Sport) alter the drivetrain response, steering effort, and AIRMATIC® suspension. A fourth "Individual" mode allows you to create a mode of your own.
A new generation of battery technology in the EQS offers significantly higher energy density. The high-voltage battery's energy content of more than 108 kWh is managed by innovative software, developed by Mercedes-Benz, that can be updated over the air, without a dealer visit, to help maintain its performance throughout its long lifespan.
Flowing lines evoke the grace of toned muscle. Mercedes-EQ signatures, from the front Black Panel to the attention to every aerodynamic detail, come together in a shape that artfully expresses the science within. Without looking like science fiction.
Offering both front- and rear-seat passengers sweeping skyward views, this fully functional glass sunroof features a front panel that can either tilt up for ventilation or slide over the rear panel for an open-air feeling. Dual interior power shades with controls allow the driver and each rear passenger to adjust the amount of sunlight entering the cabin.
A network of LEDs let you create cabin ambience to suit your mood. Edge-lighting glows along the dash, door trim, and even the outline of each front seatback. Along with 64 selectable colors and day/night brightness modes, numerous programs let you enjoy static or slowly changing multicolor motifs. Lighting in key locations can also welcome you into the cabin, confirm your climate-control adjustments, or visually augment alerts from the Exit Warning Assist feature.
Innovative Touch Controls elevate the multifunction steering wheel to an unparalleled level of user-friendliness. Finger-sensitive buttons access features like audio, Bluetooth® and cruise control. Four smartphone-like pads offer direct control of countless cockpit features. The upper touchpads operate the menu screen in the gauge cluster or the central multimedia display. Larger, lower touchpads let you vary your cruising speed or adjust the audio volume, all with your hands on the wheel.
A breakthrough in automobile cockpit control, the Mercedes-Benz User Experience is further enhanced in the EQS. MBUX integrates digital in-dash displays including touchscreen technology, touch-sensitive controls, Bluetooth® hands-free and audio streaming, and an industry-advancing voice control system that responds to your everyday speaking voice and phrasing of commands. You can set up multiple user profiles of favored settings, and groups of settings can be saved as themes or moods.
Memorizing fixed voice commands is a thing of the past: Artificial intelligence makes the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) a future you can live today. Vehicle functions for a wide range of features respond to natural, conversational phrases. For example, say "I'm cold" and MBUX can adjust the climate control. It can even learn new phrases over time, and respond with more flexible and friendly language as well. The system can also distinguish interaction from every seat.
Intuitive, and artfully sculpted, seat-shaped controls help you and your front passenger find your ideal seating positions with 12-way power adjustment, including cushion length. A memory system for each front seat recalls four stored seat positions with the touch of a button. The driver-seat memory also includes the power steering column and side mirror positions. Standard heating with automatic timed step-down adds soothing, controlled comfort in cool weather.
Multi-adjustable luxury front head restraints offer enhanced comfort and support.
The roomy second row offers power recline and fore-aft adjustment, along with seatbacks that fold in a versatile 40/20/40 split. Five inches of fore-aft movement and 18 degrees of seatback angle adjustment let you enhance comfort or cargo space while carrying passengers.
All new Mercedes-Benz vehicles are protected by our New Vehicle Limited Warranty, covering defects in material or workmanship for 48-months or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first. For added protection, the Mercedes-Benz Extended Limited Warranty offers continued peace of mind with prolonged coverage tailored to your needs.
Active Speed Limit Assist can detect posted speed-limit signs and, along with information in the navigation system's map database, automatically adapt your cruising speed accordingly. As you first engage DISTRONIC on a drive, the system can also set your cruising speed to match the posted speed with just a single tap of the cruise-control lever.
At most driving speeds, radar technology can help sense when a vehicle enters the blind-spot area on either side of you, and alert you by illuminating an icon in the appropriate side mirror. If you activate a turn signal while a vehicle is detected, it can sound a warning tone while flashing the mirror icon. And if you begin to change lanes, advanced active technology can help guide the car back by selectively braking individual wheels while a display appears in the instrument cluster.
Using the technology of Blind Spot Assist after you park, Exit Warning Assist can watch for vehicles, cyclists or pedestrians that could be at risk if the door is opened.
With technology to monitor ordinary road markings above a certain driving speed, Active Lane Keeping Assist can help detect unintended drifting off-course, and alert you by vibrating the steering wheel. If you continue to drift, it can selectively brake individual wheels to help guide the car back. Enhancements help it alert you to overtaking vehicles, vehicles you'd need to overtake if you change lanes, and even traffic in the adjacent lane or along the road edge for safer evasive moves.
